Highlights of SONA 2018

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte delivered his 3rd State of the Nation Address in around three thousand law makers and guests at the Batasang Pambansa, Monday, July 23, 2018.

His SONA was originally declared a 35 minute speech but because of his so called not prepared or off the cuff remarks added to his speech, it had lasted a bit longer. It started out 5:22 PM and concluded 6:09 PM.

Breaking the traditional way of highlighting the previous year accomplishments, the iron-fist leader, Mr. President, focused on his genuine desire for change.

Recapitulating from the first and second SONA of the President, his Drug War Campaign was the first on his list. He made a special emphasis reiterating that he would always want to stop the dangerous effects of it which can possibly destroy human lives which later gave critics and bashers negative feedback for literally disregarded human rights.

According to the President, "The love of money is corrosive." that is why his campaign against corrupt officials is still in pursuant. He wanted that agencies would have to simplify processes and become customer friendly. In some cases that a close friend of him will get involved into such he is more than ready to lost a friendship.

Also, Duterte made a justification that the Boracay closure is an environmental protection measure and that he wants the people and his countrymen to understand the probable reason why he need to close the most visited island.

Furthermore he stated in his speech that he would welcome with open arms the terrorists who would surrender to authorities and gave a recognition to the soldiers and police who died during the Marawi siege.

Undeniably, millions of Filipinos worked abroad. Reported deaths and abuses is getting numerous in number and he condemns death and abuses of OFW.

Other highlights of his speech and his advocacy include his Mindanao Promise, Bangsamoro Organic Law, Contractualization, Foreign Policy, Lowering of interconnection rates, Coconut Levy Fund, Health and Federalism.

From a students point of view and if I am to critic the SONA of Mr. President, he was failed to present a real solution to the plaguing problems of the country just like the worsening traffic, rising prices of rice, gas, fare and other prime commodities. I haven't heard either of his advocacy on creating new jobs, securing sources of income and giving higher salaries.

To the advocacy of him which will later on be put into action, then by all means genuine change will take effect.

"We didn't realize we were making memories. We just thought we were having fun" Before school year ends, we celebrate the Highschool day. For this year, 117th Highschool Day was celebrated last March 1 and 2, 2019. On the first day afternoon, the Princes and the Princesses were recognized in the gym. His Royal Highness Angeleo Paet and Her Majesty Queen Jannelle Maria Unciano are the Mr. and Ms. ISNHS Coronation Ceremony. On the second day, the program started with a parade of all students together with their loving advisers. On the afternoon, students showed their performance on the field. Not just that, teachers also showed off their moves. It was worth all the practices we've made. And the crown goes to the Grade 8 students! Highschool day celebrated every school year yet we still feel the excitement and fun before and during the event. Next school year, I hope to add more contests and booths to show the skills of the students. The more the merrier!

Use of a gadget

There are now many ways to communicate, through messaging, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. They say, "No man is an island". We live for each other. We need each other.
